Exercise. I have always been a moody person, but I found that when I exercise at least 5 days a week and work up a sweat I am not as moody and I feel better physically and emotionally. I don’t know of any herbal remedies, but you could inquire at your local health food store.

Edit: I found this link that you may find helpful:

There are quite a few things you can do to alleviate mild to moderate depression. Proper sleep, regular exercise, and a diet rich in whole grains and fresh fruits and vegetables and ocean fish is a good start.

Stay as far away from caffeine and sugar as you can as these things are proven to exacerbate depression. You should also stay away from junk food, processed foods, any oil except for olive oil or canola oil, and alcohol.

There are herbs that are used to treat depression, but you must be under the care of either a naturopathic physician or a psychiatrist [or both] for them to be prescribed for you.

There are also supplements that are used in treating depression, such as 5-htp and Omega-3.

    Good luck.

  • Depression is almost like having Insomnia, you need to be really relax.

Insomnia is the inability to fall asleep or to stay asleep for the whole night. It can last for a few nights or more, and it can even lead to anxiety or depression; it can also be a side effect of certain medications, or drinking caffeinated or alcoholic beverages very close to bedtime.
Natural remedies can help quite well to ensure a good night’s sleep.

Do some Exercise and/or Meditation after you write down notes, this will help you sleep at lot better because you will feel tired and sleepy. Do a little praying also, this will help you to relax and sleep much

    Falling Asleep
While you are lying down with your eyes close, and still can’t fall asleep, try breathing in and out, not too heavy, but just lightly, this should finally put you to sleep. You will start to feel drowsy and relaxed for the rest of the night.

I have clinical depression … I take antidepressants at times (like after I had my child) — but for me a few things help to keep it at bay:

    – Exercise – Whenever I am running I always feel better … it is quite difficult to begin an exercise routine in the middle of crushing depression – but, it is good at keeping my mood elevated when I am feeling good.
    – Keeping on a regular, consistent schedule (as much as possible)
    – Getting adequate sleep … lack of sleep is a mood trigger for many people – it has been studied in fact in medical literature.
