natural remedy for tinutitis?

My friend’s son suffers from ringing in the ears. cause may be either really loud music or a one year period of time where he was addicted to oxycotin. he has kicked that habit and is under a doctors care. he is 25, and says the ringing becomes really bad when he tries to go to sleep. is there any natural remedy that might help?
