Thyroid issue, too low TSH?

My dad has hypothyroidism and his TSH rocketed to around 25 a couple of years ago, since then he has been on thyroid medication (synthetic thyroxine). For a long time the levels came to normal but he wasn’t feeling well for a few days and we got the levels checked again, the TSH came out to be 0.06 which is really low and barely existing. What could be the reason for this? Is the medication making the TSH production low?
@under siege: Although vegetarianism is healthy I don’t think it directly affects thyroid function because my dad is a long time vegetarian too right from his young days.
@under siege: To debunk your theory, let me share a fact. Our family is Buddhist so we all are vegetarians from birth and never ever ate even a piece of meat. But you have been a vegetarian for just six months and are attributing benefits to the change in diet alone. It seems you are the one on a fad diet and are getting overexcited by some random positive results in your thyroid function tests. I am really sure that you have no idea about the endocrine system and so you should keep your guess work to yourself instead of sharing false, unverified information. I am all for vegetarianism but it is not something that will cure ailments right away, being a vegetarian prevents you from getting a lot of diseases in the first place. And the condescending tone full of attitude isn’t getting you any thumbs up either.

Doc says I have hyperactive thyroid? High potassium? Help!?

My doctor was worried about my weight and did some testing, He found out I have hyperactive thyroid and high potassium(which I have no clue if this is bad or not) but I have no energy lately. Yesterday felt like a cloud. He said he needed more blood to do some more testing to make sure I dont have a tumor or something like that on my thyroid. I gave more blood and he hasnt got back to me yet. But the first time he called me real quick. Whats going on with me? Whats a hyperactive thyroid? What should i be doing in the meantime? And whats wrong with high potassium? I am a 24 year old Woman. Thanks.

Why could my thyroid be enlarged?

I was visting my endocrinologist today for an unrelated issue when he noticed my thyroid was enlarged. He looked at it for a while and then asked a doctor for a second opinion. She also felt it was definitely enlarged. They also mentioned my neck felt full. When I had a full battery of tests two years ago with another endo, my thyroid results were fine. I am 18 year old male btw. Any ideas for the cause? I am having a bunch of tests done tomorrow including a full thyroid work up.

Thyroid Tests-what tests do you need yearly?

I have been on thyroid medication for 8 years (levoxyl). I have blood work done yearly. Today I realized that my doctor is only testing free t4 (1.02).

Is only testing free t4 enough?

I have been having increasing hypothyroid symptoms (fatigue, swelling face, fingers and toes, coarse hair, inability to lose weight with diet and exercise, etc)

Thanks for your help!

What medical condition stops you from losing weight?

I don’t get it, fat people say "Oh, I have this medical condition, so don’t call me fat"
But, there are food that burn fat, & they can exercise. So, is there a medical condition that no matter what, you can’t burn fat? Because I don’t really believe in their excuses. Also, what’s this about being big boned ? You’re fat, don’t blame your bones.
