Is this my thyroid?!?

I have pain and tenderness on my neck where my thyroid is located. It started out with like a pulled muscle pain on the left side of my neck and after a day it moved to the front as well, where it became very tender. It hurts to yawn, move, sit up, turn my head. The tenderness when touching it is the most severe. It is extremely tender in the front of my neck. There are no other symptoms accompanying this pain but it is very debilitating and I am very worried. I am seeing a doctor tomorrow. Do you think this is my thyroid and what possible conditions are associated with it?
I have had a history in pain in my thyroid before, and the pain feels the same but they did blood work when I was really young about ten or eleven and they found nothing.
