depression . natural remedies please help?

im depressed. for no reason really.!! well like im having problems with my boyfriend not major problems but hes just not as perfect as he used to be and i do blame myself. dumping him is not an option as it would make me sprial into a deeper depression i love him alot!! im very dependent on him though and i think this is my problem. i want to be a stronger women. first i need to get rid of my depression. my doctor advised me away from anti depressents bcuz they are addictive . is there any natural remedies?

    Becoming a stronger woman and getting rid of your depression will go hand in hand… you can’t make depression vanish, you’re probably depressed because of your relationship problems and being too dependent (just going on what you said, I’m not sure how dependent you are or anything) So when you feel better about yourself and stop blaming yourself, you probably won’t have problems with depression.

    I’d really suggest you talk to a counselor, they really help! You can ask your doctor about it, or contact your local mental health agency for some suggestions.

    You can also try some of the things in the website I list in my sources, but counseling will help better and faster than trying to do it on your own.

    I have been put on different anti-depressants since I was 13 years old and I am now in my 20s. I’ve never had one that I was addicted to, but some side effects can be dangerous. I would suggest maybe seeing a counselor for your depression if it gets serious. For things to do at home I would journal daily about your problems, listen to music that makes you feel better, and definately check out the book called "Boundaries" by Dr. Henry Cloud about the boyfriend problem.   • God.. faith. Finding new things to be happy for, that will push you more into your own world, your own thoughts and becoming your own bestfriend. Being independent is the first step.. and to find things that make you happy and stuff, go on youtube! so many things there to look laugh and learn. don’t say you have depression aswell, EVERYONE gets like this, there is no warning sign or way to avoid it, its just how life is, there is so much worse that can happen to you – and i hope that never happens but if it ever does you can bitch on yahoo or you could actually be depressed and not leave your bed which is what real depression is. your just sad, but yeah… i guess just you just need yourself because if we were all born in a world with only us.. we wouldnt know there are other people, we would use what we have and we would be happy. idk someone todl me that last part i could make it more explaninable but cbf !

    I am 63 years old & have clinical depression & have been on lots of things but the one natural thing that has helped me is a good B-Complex vitamin then take an extra 800 mcg’s of Folic acid (that’s another B vitamin), I read it somewhere many years ago & then actually a dr. told me about it as well. It really helps.

    Anti-depressants are not addictive. In fact, the biggest problem psychiatrists and psychologists have is that severely depressed patients will not keep taking their medication after they start to feel better. Predictably, they lapse back into depression and wonder why. Well, duh…. If the meds were addictive, people would stay on them and want more and more, but they don’t.

    Go to a psychiatrist because regular doctors are people, too. Some of them have biases that don’t help when they are trying to treat someone outside of their area of specialization. You need a professional who can assess your situation and prescribe the proper medication to help you as well as provide counseling for your dependency issues etc.

    It will make an enormous difference. Just stay on the medication after you start to feel better or the depression will return. Natural treatments can work but they pale in comparison to anti-depressants.
