Lab Results – High total cholesterol?

Hi,
I got some lab work back today and it indicates that my total cholesterol is high (213) but my HDL, LDL and triglycerides are normal (69, 116, 137). Is this something I should be concerned about? I’m 26 years old, active (I teach dance part time), I don’t have the best diet though. I guess my question is how can my total cholesterol be high if my individual levels are normal?

Cholesterol question? Please help?

I have a pretty low total cholesterol level of 125. However, my HDL (the good cholesterol) seems low at only 49, but accoriding to the printout is still in the normal range and my LDL (the bad stuff) is at 54 which is also in the "normal" range. My triglycerides are at 65 if that matters.

I am worried that my HDL might be low in an unhealthy way. Do you think so or is it just low because my total cholesterol is so low as well?

If it is low how can you raise your HDL without really lowering your cholesterol any more because I have heard low total cholesterols can be dangerous as well.

high cholesterol question?

Recently, I was diagnsed with high cholesterol(274) , but my triglicerides were borderline. NOw, I have brought my cholesterol down to 253, which I do realize is still high, but I have made my triglicerides high now (14 pts higher than it should be). Any suggestions?

Eggs and cholesterol?

I was eating 2 eggs every morning, because a nutritionist put me on a certain diet (since I have had very weak muscles after an accident with something, and she wanted me to have protein). And, after speaking with her, I was convinced that it wouldn’t hurt my cholesterol. Now, my cholesterol is high and it was perfect before. I never had a problem with cholesterol before this. Is there a good possibility that eating these eggs every day (for 9 months) has caused this increase in cholesterol? If so, can I lower it back to normal by simply stopping to eat them and eating more oatmeal?

Cholesterol?

Do you only have to worry about getting high cholesterol if you eat animals? In health this week, I learned that you get high cholesterol from eating animal fat. I don’t eat gelatin, or any meat whatsoever! (Including seafood!)

Cholesterol in Eggs?

I eat an egg every few days; I know eggs are good but will too much have a negative impact on your cholesterol. One more thing, I like to eat them (or drink them) straight-up, or ‘raw’- does that make the difference in cholesterol.

Is the cholesterol in eggs the ‘good’ or ‘bad’ cholesterol, thanx for your help.

PS- please don’t make comments about the way I eat them (it’s extremely safe); if you gimme a good answer then I’ll give you a thumbs-up
