To me, belly fat is the most embarrassing and unsightly fat you can have. What happens when you put your favorite jeans on? Your belly fat gets pushed up and spills over the top of the jeans. This is called muffin top. How cute, right? Wrong!

I hate it and belly fat loss is also the most difficult to achieve, second only to arm fat. You have to lose weight all over to lose weight in your belly and the best way to do that is to take in less calories than you burn in one day.

I want you to do something, not for me, but for yourself. Start this all off by taking a thirty minute walk everyday. If you cannot go for thirty minutes the first week then work up to it. Walking is the best thing you can do for yourself. Walking will improve lung and muscle function. Your heart will love you for it. Carry a water bottle to stay hydrated especially if it is warm outside. You can sweat out a considerable amount of water and nutrients in thirty minutes if you are not careful.

Losing weight takes commitment to yourself but staying motivated can be a challenge sometimes. If motivation to lose weight was easy to come by, no one would be overweight in our country. We would all be our ideal weights and pictures of fitness.

It’s up to you to figure out what things will help you get and stay motivated. Everyone knows the consequences associated with having too much body fat and living a sedentary lifestyle. It’s one of those things though that until it happens to you or someone you love, you just stay complacent and think that it will never happen.

Of course, it can and will if you don’t take control now. There are a few aspects to losing weight, such as eating better foods, less junk, and getting a lot of exercise. Believe it or not, for many people the motivation to lose weight will often start with finding a work out you can live with. That is why I suggest starting with walking for thirty minutes a day. It is easy to stick to. You can always incorporate more into a work out, but it pays to start simple.

Another great way to get and keep your motivation is to find a like minded friend to exercise with. It can be as simple as the two of you taking a class together, joining a gym, or just going for walks, having a buddy can make all the difference.

One thing you don’t want to do is put yourself under a lot of pressure by setting up an unrealistic time frame. Don’t wait until a few weeks before a wedding, or vacation. If you do, you’ll just be setting yourself up for failure. It will be virtually impossible for you to achieve your belly fat loss and once the event comes and goes you’ll probably be done working out. Instead just make a commitment to yourself to get healthy, that is the best motivation to lose weight.

Be Prepared for Your Weight Loss Program

Prepared foods are your friend. It seems silly to pay three to four times as much for a bag of cleaned prepared salad as for a head of lettuce. But it can be a boost to your diet program.

If you have to take the head of lettuce apart, wash, dry and tear into bite size pieces, you might be tempted just to skip the whole thing and throw a frozen pizza in the oven instead. Bagged ready to eat salads are a boon to weight watchers. But don’t stop there. Lots of fresh produce comes ready to eat or cook.

Besides salad, and carrot and celery sticks, you can buy ready to go cabbage slaw mixes, crudités, peeled and sliced fresh fruit, veggies ready to steam or sauté, and baby vegetables. Next time you’re in the produce aisle take a few minutes to see what’s available.

In the deli section there is a wide variety of freshly prepared individual entrée salads for your selection. You can choose Southwest Chicken, Cobb, or seafood, to name just a few. The salads come with the dressing in a separate container so the lettuce remains fresh and you control how much dressing to use. The salads are portion controlled, so when you’re finished there isn’t anything to tempt you into ‘just one more bite.’

Of course stay away from the prepared salads which are high fat. or made with mayonnaise, like potato, or macaroni. Avoid smoked deli meats. Stick with roasted meats like chicken or turkey, and low fat cheeses.

Snack packs of fresh fruits with yogurt, crunchy veggies with dip, even hard boiled eggs can round out your snack menu. All ready to go and to get you going.

The frozen foods case contain well known diet brand names but also have the grocer’s house brand for those on a weight program. The entrees are very similar in taste and nutritional benefits but the house brand is usually less expensive. Use the entrée for lunch as well as dinner. Most offices have a refrigerator and a microwave.

Stick with individual bags and containers when you’re in the snack and cookie aisle. Look for baked low fat crackers and cookies.

Use prepared foods to keep your weight loss program on track. Don’t let a busy schedule be an excuse. Grocery shop for three or four days at a time, so you have the foods you want on hand when you need them.

Induction Diet Priority 1 For Adkins Weight Loss Plan

 

The induction diet is the start of the Adkins Weight Loss Plan. The Adkins plan requires restriction of the consumption of carbohydrates. During the induction phase of the diet, carbohydrates are kept to a bare minimum in order to start the ketosis process.

The induction diet is the most important phase of the Adkins diet. Do not skip this part because the entire weight loss plan depends on successful implementation of induction.

The idea behind the Adkins diet is that if you replace carbohydrates with protein, you will burn fat rather than muscle. It is a severe weight loss plan and requires that you follow the rules to the letter. This is especially true during the induction diet portion of the plan.

You will find that induction is the hardest part of the Adkins diet. There are two reasons for this. First, you will miss your daily dose of carbohydrates the most when you first give them up. Secondly, you have the fewest carbohydrates – only 12 carbohydrates a day – during this phase. For instance, nuts are allowed later on in the Adkins plan, but during the induction diet, they are prohibited.

During the induction phase, you can eat as much of specific foods as you want. For instance, all fish, fowl, shellfish, meat, and eggs are allowed. You are also allowed a small amount of vegetables – up to 12 carbohydrates worth.

Because there are limited foods that you can eat during the induction diet, it is very important to have a book or computer program which gives you the amount of carbohydrates in all plant based foods.

You should not eat any packaged foods during this phase of the Adkins diet. Almost all packaged foods have a good deal of carbohydrates and are sure to be induction diet busters.

You should also plan your meals carefully to ensure that you are getting a wide variety of types of food. If you do not plan ahead, you may find yourself becoming bored with the types of food you are allowed. This will lead to cheating. After all, you do not want to eat bacon and eggs or steak at every meal.

Unlike other diets, if you fall off of the Adkins diet, you cannot simply start again the next day as if nothing had happened. This is because the Adkins diet is all about conditioning your body to invoke ketosis. This is necessary to switch your body from just losing water weight to start burning fat.

You can stay on the induction diet portion of Adkins for as long as you want in order to maximize weight loss or fat burning. However, the plan recommends that you stay on induction for at least two weeks.

After induction, you can begin to add more carbohydrates into your diet, but only in the form of vegetables. Nuts are also allowed in small quantities after completing the induction diet.

Adkins is not an easy diet to follow. Buy many people have experienced tremendous weight loss success on the plan. You start Adkins with the induction diet and go from there.

I know we do not want to hear this but I am going to be blunt….research has shown a link between obesity and cancer.

Psychological Effects Of Exercise – Another Reason For You To Exercise

Many of us get very focused on the physical benefits of exercise, and why not, we lose weight, improve our overall health, and look great. But no matter how much we gain physically we shouldn’t ignore the psychological effects of exercise.

1. Better mood. We’ve all heard of ‘the runners high’ this is achieved after a runner, or anyone doing physical activity, reaches a certain level in their workout and their body releases chemicals that make them feel good.

That only works for a short time during the activity, but we can continue to have a good, more stable, mood permanently.
