Can I make doughnuts at home with Bicarbonate of Soda?

On the tub of bicarbonate of soda, it says it can be used with doughnuts, but I can’t find any recipes online that use it! I have the majority of ingredients, but I don’t have baking soda or baking powder. Thank you!
