Eliminate potential food allergens – If you suspect that there is a link between food sensitivity and your state of mind, try eliminating the allergen foods from your diet to see if this brings relief. The usual suspects are dairy products, wheat (gluten), corn, preservatives, and food additives. Your doctor may also suggest tests for food sensitivities.

Eat antioxidant rich foods, including fruits (such as blueberries, cherries, oranges and tomatoes), and vegetables (such as squash and bell peppers).

Vitamin B6 is believed to work in the brain similar to valium-like drugs – hence its importance in your diet as food or as supplement. Mainly, women taking oral contraceptives or with premenstrual tension or going through menopause require good amount of B6.

Many herbal and homeopathic remedies have been shown to significantly reduce the symptoms of depression without the unwanted side-effects.

The most commonly used as natural remedies for depression are Hypericum Perforatum (St. John’s Wort) which has been called “nature’s Prozac” and Passiflora which is one of nature’s best natural tranquilizers.

Many people around the world have now turned to this more natural approach of regaining the subtle balance of brain chemicals and rejuvenating the body and mind for all round natural health. Natural remedies for depression that include homeopathic remedies can also be of great benefit and are free of side effects as well.

I don’t know of a a lot of natural remedies, but I’ve read a few articles where it said that eating bananas helps with depression. Drinking green tea also is known to put you in a better mood. These things have worked for me so i suggest you try it out.

That’s right. We ARE what we EAT. For depression or other physical and mentally stressing/exhausting ailments I suggest taking some Rhodiola Root a.k.a Golden Root Tea. Plus, it has other beneficial effects on your overall health.
For the Tea – 1 – 2 cap per day
For further dosage queries and benefits check the Life Extension Drugs description link with a research article video in it.

Read the above links buddy. If you can weanyourself off any processed, nutritionally void, chemically processed man made, age you before your time, wallet emptying, highly addictive sugar you’ll be leaps and bounds ahead of the rest.

I believe it’s more about what you don’t put into your body as opposed to what you do when it comes to ailments such as depression.

To aide any withdrawal support healthy neural functioning by eating wholegrains and cereals like brown rice and rolled oats or spelt bread…. organic though to avoid the nasty chemicals theyuse to "preserve and prolong shelf life" in the commercial varieties……. all rich in vitamins B1 (thiamine) so essential for healthy neural functioning ….. eat more green salads and green vegies too so rich in calcium and magnesium ….. magnesium is known as the antistress mineral so eat them just for that reason alone if no other…. ** eat bananas too as one poster suggests for they are also rich in magnesium.. good stress busters **…..calcium and magnesium are essential for healthy neural, heart bone and teeth and digestive functioning……. other foods rich in calcium are fresh salmon and fresh sardines, raw organic almonds and brazil nuts and sunflower seeds …. only a handfull of the nuts and seeds is all you need and grind them for easier digestion.

Lean sources of protein such as organic lean chicken and beef or raw nuts and seeds will help with the withdrawal symptoms in detoxing from any addictive substance.

And drink more water too …. you’d be amazed at how being just a lil dehydrated can mess with your energy levels and moods.

Heres a good lot of info on bananas for you ~
