Feeling depressed about illness keeping me away from gym and training?

I am a 36 yr old male. A few months back I developed a condition (along the lines of hemarrhoids/fissure). It reoccured no less than 2 times. Normally I am very fit and healthy. I gym 3 times a week and attended boxing fitness once a week. I used to be almost 14 stone in weight and reduced this to just under 12 in less than 2 years.

Since the health conditions in October 2012, I have had to give up all forms of exercise to prevent reoccurence of my problems. But as a result gained weight to just under 13 stone quite rapidly. All my hard work down the drain. I am now focusing on diet, trying to eat healthy. I am getting much better in health but have to stay away from the gym until I am absolutely fit to go back.

It is depressing me quite a lot.

Ejaz I’m sorry to hear you feeling poorly. Have you sought medical advice from your GP? There are many gym exercises that can be done at home which you can trial to see if your condition reoccurs. You don’t state what type of training you partake in other than boxing exercise type. I’m suspecting it has been machine/free weight. Perhaps undertake some low impact no weight training or low weight kettle bell exercises, this will improve your core and help with the weight loss. I use Juice Plus to manage my health and well-being. You’re making the right decisions already, keep at it and you’ll get there.
