Oh, boy! Do you have low thyroid (hypOthyroid), or overactive, (hypERthyroid). A veterenarian, of all people, explained to me that the hormones secreted by the thyroid gland have their fingers in all your bodily functions. I have hypothyroid and am on medication for it. Thyroxine is the generic name for it. It is a lifetime condition. I also on occasion suffer from depression and anxiety-in the form of panic attacks. I don’t think you can attribute either to thyroid. Rather they are related to circumstances in my life. I have lexapro for depression and diazapam (valium) for anxiety. There is lots of info here if you do a search on thyroid, or hypothyroid, sometimes known as Hashimoto syndrome.
