Good cholesterol is called HDl. The normal blood value is 40 mg. per decilitre of blood. An increase in this cholesterol helps in keeping the heart healthy.
If the rest of the fractions of cholesterol are not unduly high you can increase your HDL by
    1, Regular exercise
2.Taking a high fiber diet containing whole grain cereals and vegetables
    3. Avoiding more than the required amount of saturated fats in the diet
    4. Reducing or avoiding obesity
    5. Eating sufficient fruits
    6. Eating fish or tinned fish

In brief, a change into a heart healthy diet and regular exercise can increase your HDL.
If there is no evidence of increase of HDl after following such a regime for about three months you should take the doctor’s advice.
    I am a medical doctor.
