    The high cholesterol is mostly a comorbidity. In other words, PCOS doesn’t directly cause high cholesterol but it does cause weight gain. Weight gain is usually what causes the high cholesterol. If you’re not overweight though, there might be something else going on. You aren’t really that high though. If you’ve got a high HDL (good cholesterol) doctors tend to let an overall high cholesterol count go without saying much. It’s when you’ve got a lot of the bad stuff (LDL) that they worry.

    I gained a lot of weight suddenly (Yasmin!), and with it my cholesterol went up to a little over 200 as well. But they never said much because my HDL was REALLY good. 🙂 It was like 60 or something.. lol.
