Lab Results – High total cholesterol?
Hi,
I got some lab work back today and it indicates that my total cholesterol is high (213) but my HDL, LDL and triglycerides are normal (69, 116, 137). Is this something I should be concerned about? I’m 26 years old, active (I teach dance part time), I don’t have the best diet though. I guess my question is how can my total cholesterol be high if my individual levels are normal?
Total cholesterol embraces HDL,LDL, TAG but also VLDL etc. That’s why it may not be a sum;)
Normal cholesterol is to 200 so you shouldn’t be bothered at all.
People can have as 400 cholesterol which is dangerous and requires changes in diet and lifestyle.
