Anyone know any natural approaches to preventing/reversing alzheimers?

I have been doing some research on alzheimer’s because it runs greatly in my family. I was looking for some nutrients or natural ways to prevent it. I have read that omega-3, methylcobalamin (methyl-b12), grape seed extract, caffeine, niacin (vitamin b3) and ginkgo can help prevent it. Does anyone know for sure if these are good approaches. Also I’ve read that methyl-b12 and omega-3 can actually reverse alzheimer’s..is any of this true?

here are numerous natural remedies that have been shown to decrease memory loss and improve cognitive functioning. A substantial benefit of a natural approach is that it offers the curative properties of conventional medicine without any of the side effects (which are often more debilitating than the disorder itself).

Some examples of natural herbs recommended for relieving Alzheimer’s symptoms include Ginkgo biloba, Rosemary, and Sage. Taken regularly, these herbs have been clinically shown to improve memory and cerebral blood flow to the brain, thus helping the brain to perform its functions while reducing the symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease.

There are also many herbal and homeopathic remedies like Natrium muriaticum, Kalium phosphate which can help maintain harmony, health and systemic balance in the brain and nervous system, without side effects or sedation. These products are known for their supportive function in maintaining brain, nervous system and circulatory health, and well-being.

Coenzyme Q10, which is supposed to tremendously help the elderly in their various age related issues, should also be consumed. Sources of this useful compound include Soya beans, potatoes, spinach and offal.

I have also been thinking about this and it leads me to think of several things that affect the brain of otherwise normal people. One illness is Ataxia for instance, I have wondered if there is restriction in the blood flow which if restricted leaves toxins behind?
I feel that the blood flow has not as far as I know been investigated sufficiently. There is a case of Alzheimer’s in a 31 year old young lady in Australia which has confounded the medical world as a first for young woman at that age.
I feel that it has to have a cause, the effect is obvious and tests prove it but why is the question?
I think the blood flow through the jugglar may be restricted. I am in touch with the Ataxia society and have mentioned this as a thought of my own. I am really a Process Engineer and I am looking at the human body as a machine. Probably none of this is relavent but it is worth some investigation.

I heard fish oil (omega-3 and 6). It doesn’t "reverse", it just helps the brain function better, so it kinda slows down the aging system.

Yes, I know how to prevent Alzheimer’s. My father who was 54 when he married my step-mother was a moderate drinker. She make him quit drinking, and at 85, his mind was shot. Moderate drinking is essential to good blood circulation and high HDL cholesterol and low blood sugar. I did an experiment for my doctor, and after the tests came in, he shut his mouth about my drumlin.

Medical science world wide has been working on preventing or reversing Alzheimer’s for some time, and are making many advances. I hardly think naturopaths will be ahead of the game…
