what does 4.41 total cholesterol mean?

This is my total cholesterol level according to my doctor.

  • Cholesterol is measured in "mmol/litre" in Europe and Canada. A reading of 4.41 mmol/litre is not too bad. Most doctors get concerned if you are over 6.0 .

    It is important to note that you should not determine your cholesterol levels just by your total cholesterol level. This needs to be further broken down into LDL, HDL, and triglycerides in order to give you some insight into the types of cholesterol that are in your blood.

    If you have a heart condition or a family history of it, the doctor will want your LDL ( bad cholesterol ) below 2.0 and your HDL (good cholesterol) above 1.0

    Your triglycerides and lipid profile will also be checked.

    if its talking about grams/100 I think its good because most food give more than that or a little less. $4.41 is equivelent to a a piece of fried chicken in saturated fat.
