I have sores on my scalp can this be because of a potential thyroid condition?

I am a 22 year old male and have been getting flaky painful sore on my scalp. I think this is related to a potential thyroid condition because I have been moody and depressed with in the past couple of months. Can someone please help me

    No, thyroid problems won’t cause sores on your scalp. It is more likely to be psoriasis, eczema, dandruff, harsh winter weather, an allergy to shampoo or other hair care products, water that is too hot, or too much blow drying.

    Unless you have been tested and told that you have thyroid problems, don’t try self-diagnosis. There are many other things that will cause you to be moody and depressed. FIRST see a dermatologist about the scalp problems and, chances are good, that when you find out what is causing them, your depression and moodiness will cease. I wish you well.

    I’d be more inclined to say a mineral defficiency than a thyroid problem.

    If you’re eating a healthy diet, rich in fruit and vegetables, you may need to see a doctor in case you have a bacterial infection such as Staph.
