Natural remedies for a headache?

I’ve had this awful headache since the beginning of my pregnancy, I can’t take pills so I was wondering of any natural remedies for headaches. It’s killing me, and really keeping me away from enjoying my along time with my son before the baby gets here in August.

  • Are you getting enough calcium and magnesium in your diet?? Whilst you are pregnant it’s hard to keep up with all the vitamins and minerals your body needs …. particularly calcium and magnesium …….. eat more green vegies luv …… my mom always told me to eat my greens …. and that’s why … brilliant for bone health ……. your beautifull growing baby will definitely be getting all the nutrition he/she needs from mama and if mama is slightly deficient baby doesn’t suffer at all ….. mama does ….your body NeEdS the extra calcium, magnesium, vitamin C ….. all found in green vegies like broccolli, kale, chard, celery, buk choy … Without sufficient calcium you will suffer insomnia, headaches and migraines, irritability and moodiness, achy bones, digestive upsets such as bloating and cramping and constipation, nasty nasty mood swings ……… fatigue and exhaustion (calcium is essential for iron absorption) …… calcium is also essential for healthy bones, teeth and heart health and works in tandem with magnesium (known as the antistress mineral)…… lack of magnesium will give you migraines and headaches, nervous and twitching and muscular issues and will also cause lower back aches and bad digestion and constipation ……. increasing your daily intake of foods rich in both such as leafy and green vegies, brocolli, kale, spinach, fresh fish such as tuna and salmon and organic nuts and seeds such as almonds, brazil nuts and sunflower seeds … go easy on the nuts and seeds though and don’t exceed more than a handfull a day as they are hard to digest if you eat much more than that ….. doing this will dramatically reduce your discomfort and dissipate headaches.

    Eat more green vegies mate, another thing they’ll do is encourage the production of hydrochloric acid in your tummy and help resolve any issues you may have with constipation and bloating.

    And drink more water ……. any sodas, pop and soft drinks you drink will leach the calcium right out of your bones by overloading your system with phosphorus ……. in an effort to rebalance the precious calcium phosphorus equation your body just leaches the calcium right out of your bones to realkalise your system …… drink a few glasses of water hey, maybe you’re just dehydrated.

    A little extra effort sure but anything worth having is worth the extra effort ….. i reckon no pain is worth a few bowls of green vegies a day.

    if you choose to supplement please ensure you use an organic chelated powdered calcium supplement to avoid any nastysludge chemicals and follow the instructions on the bottle …… lifestream do a good one in oz that is organic and is powerded sea vegetables (seaweed) …. i take it and if theres a toxic chemical in something you can bet my system will react violently and quickly…….. and the side of the bottle does say pregnant and breastfeeding mothers to ingest 3/4 – 1/14 teaspoons full daily …… check with your physician if you want to take it as it may interfere with any essential medications you may already be taking.

  • i found a pressure point between the thumb fore finger
    you just press it really hard.it hurts but it does take the head ache away
    if you squeeze the bottom of your thumb youll find it

  • Headache can be caused by high blood pressure or poor blood circulation.
    In the latter case, you can put on your head a woolen band to warm the head and improve blood circulation. For the same reason try to keep your hands and feet in hot water.
    Sometimes it helps if you put on your head something cooling like a band made of pure linen (flax), cloth made of this plant is good for wearing when it’s hot.

  • Here are a few things to try:

    – Lavender oil on your forehead – you may need to dilute it a little with almond oil
    – Pressure point on the very end of your big toe – just dig in with your fingers
    – Press really hard with your thumb in about the centre of your forehead – this provides some temporary pressure relief

    Things to check, as in why you have a headache:
    – Are you getting enough water? Try drinking water that has been boiled in the last few hours as it is absorbed better.
    – Are there any tense muscles in your neck or base of your skull? You can massage these yourself. Or you can use a hot pack to loosen them up. Also try washing your hair and giving your head a really good hard massage at the same time.
    – Did you suddenly stop drinking a lot of caffeine because you were pregnant? I call it a caffeine headache and sometimes the only relief is caffeine. You could try just some tea or coffee and see if that gets rid of it.

    Hope you find a solution. I’ve had constant headaches in the past and know how draining they are.

  • One thing you should try as I have had this issue drink lots of water.You are more likely to get a headache when you are pregnant.You can drink a cup of sage tea.Make sure it is not powdered just dry sage this will knock a headache out in 30 min.
