What are some natural remedies for depression, stress, lack of focus, and anxiety?

I’m going to go off my medication (Safely weaning down, not cold turkey), which is Paxil, and makes me insane, and makes all of those above problems extremely worse. I was diagnosed with major depression, and while the medicine (first celexa, then switched because I felt sick all the time) made me not suicidal, it’s made the all around feeling of depression much worse. I honestly think there’s a flaw in the diagnosis, not only because he decided it after talking to me for like 10 minutes, but I’m only sometimes depressed. I’ve wondered if it’s manic depression, but milder (I’ve had some strangely up moods, but not necessarily "manic").

Anyway, that’s not what I’m trying to ask here. I’m looking for any natural remedy, which means, don’t suggest getting put on another damn drug that manipulates my way of thinking and makes me less like the person I’ve been for years. Anything you can think of is welcome. I do believe in the new age stuff, but it’s just a bit… intimidating to try myself. So, if you can think of anything, whether it be herbs or crystals or meditation or what, please say so.

Stress, depression, anxiety and worry are all health problems that can trigger off further health problems.

Anxiety, stress, worry and depression can cause over 100 health problems as in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0oGkmYCx0ZQ5CUA.T4L5gt.?p=%22over+100+anxiety+symptoms%22&fr2=sb-top&fr=ush-ans&type_param=&rd=r1

Prescription medication for anxiety, stress, depression and worry can give you bad side effects so natural remedies are often much better.

Natural remedies for anxiety, stress, worry and depression include Yoga, Melatonin, St John’s Wort, Valerian Root, other herbs, vitamins and other remedies as in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22natural+anxiety+remedies%22&fr=ush-ans

  • maybe try going drug free and do things that make you happy get to the root of the problem instead of covering it up but i personally believe that anti depressants are a boost or a push into being less depressed but no one should be on them for too long try 5htp or Zoloft but keep in mind those may alter the natural chemistry of your brain but may really help with depression Zoloft can make you suicidal at first but then you will get way better.

  • Possible help for some…..
First smile…..Take 10 slow deep inhale breathes and let all out slowly…Try to let the sunrise shine slightly on your eyes(don’t look at it directly of course…)when you feel stressed it may help to reach to the sky in a stretch-relax …or try leaning forward with your hands hanging toward the floor in front of you
and visualize all your tension,anxiety,pain…..falling out of your fingertips onto the floor (closed eyes)..
maybe with some music without words so you won’t be distracted by the words..
St. johns wort…..but don’t take any of these herbs if your on any meds from doc-big problem if you do
ginko biloba, fish oil or flax oil…all these may not help for 3 weeks or so—chinese herbs(need expert)
5-HTP but use only products marked that they are "peak X-free"or bad stuff-Death if contaminated..
Sam-e……acupuncture….there are many more possible helps but no time for all of them but I know this is very important to you ….I’ll help more if I can just ask……I have 3 jobs so I’m kinda busy……

  • I use NZT.1 that is made by the company named Paneuromix. You can order it online. Mostly, I use it because I wanted to improve my memory and focus, but I noticed that it affects my mood as well. It kinds of balances it so that I actually feel good and ready to work. It has all the natural elements and you can check it on their site.

  • Yay, Wow baby you came to the right place for I can help you, download the Youtube – it runs for about 15 minutes and you will get results within hours if you are serious with all of this.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) & STRESS –

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJDjOPIz8RE

EFT often works where nothing else will. It is usually rapid, long lasting and gentle. EFT doesn’t use drugs. It is easily learned by young and old alike. EFT is self empowering—you can do it for yourself. EFT has been known to work in many areas that are difficult for more traditional therapies and mainstream medical techniques. Some of those areas include:

PainFears/phobias, Headache, Claustrophobia, Judging, Agoraphobia, Panic/Anxiety, Fear of flying, Asthma, Trauma, PTSD,Eating disorders, Abuse, Weight loss, Performance Anxiety, Creating Healthy Boundaries, Attracting Abundance, Blood Pressure, Anger, ADD-ADHD, Allergies,Children Diabetes, Dyslexia, Success/Failure Syndromes,Neuropathy…

    Other methods you can try

Depression: Wear bright or surround yourself in bright plain coloured YELLOW – yellow is great for focus, memory and concentration. Red is great for confidence and power, also the colour for passion and sex.

Wow what a great doctor 10 minutes and he prescribed you with toxic chemicals – the Bastrad! Did he also say to you (like one did to me) ‘it will take 2 weeks for your body to ‘get used’ to the drugs’, I told him I don’t take toxic chemicals and he turned on me and stated "if you don’t take the drugs I can’t help you" – BULLSHITE! I took one of his stupid anti-depressant chemical pills and I sat there for about 5-6 hours like a ZOMBIE – I no emotional feelings they just simply packed up and left me. That was that I didn’t take anymore, in fact I took them back to the chemist I told the to send them to the toxic waste dump, the staff were telling me ‘YOU HAVE TO TAKE THEM’ – they have NO authority over me – so I just walked out. They can’t do anything they are’t the law, and it isn’t against the law – YET – not to take prescribed drugs.

So you can go down the certified organic fresh fruits, vegetables and meats, and trying to source pure water – my journey began with our very own Elaine Hollingsworth she runs the Hippocrates Center on the Gold Coast – she runs free tours each Sunday promptly at 5pm. Her book ‘Take Control of Your Health and Escape The Sickness Industry’ can be borrowed from your local library – I believe she is up to the 11th edition – a must read! So I now purchase 100% pure coconut oil and bake, cook, fry, use it as a moisturiser, sunscreen and for sunburn and for burns in general. I buy it from African Pacific (NSW) in a 10 liter bucket for $220.00 (free delivery over $200)

I don’t drink tap or bottled water, and I always take my own water – I choose not to drink my poisons.

…anyway Elaine Hollingsworth led me to Dr Mercola – Natural Health (USA)

and that led me to Birth Of A New Earth – that’s a real eye opener.

    Live long and healthy, naturally.

Serious illnesses were rare in the 1950s, and it wasn’t until the ‘60s that osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s, cancer, and many other degenerative diseases, started surfacing and became a part of our language. Autism and ADHD didn’t exist, because children ate reasonable diets and were not poisoned by vaccinations. From 1934 until 1947 (my school years) I never heard of any child with a serious disease. Now it’s commonplace for children, even babies, to be attached to chemotherapy I.V.s, and I think this is a Big Pharma, Big Government, Big Medicine disgrace….Elaine Hollingsworth

…a lovely new word I came across the other day ‘PHARMAGEDDON’ – says it all really.

  • see an hio method chiropractor to correct the thyroid dysfunction due to nerve interference you have causing your symptoms.

  • One of my study partners in University was taking a natural chinese medicine/remedy during finals last semester, and they said that it really helped them focus and keep concentrated on their studies. I didn’t use any of it, but he said it was the best thing he had ever taken and it was all natural.

  • Paxil is an SSRI. So you need something that acts the same or otherwise provides serotonin.

    – Sunlight induces the body’s normal production of serotonin and dopamine. Outdoor activities are nice too. Get out for a while.
    – St. John’s Wort is an SSRI that is even popularly prescribed in Germany and has a lot of studies to back it up. But outside of Germany beware of poor quality. Make sure it is an *0.3% Hypericin extract* and 300-1800 mg per day. This one has good reviews: http://www.amazon.com/Spring-Valley-Johns-Wort-Capsules/dp/B001531A2S/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1358366078&sr=8-8&keywords=st.+john%27s+wort
    – Noni fruit can increase serotonin too. Buy the bulk powder from a place like http://www.mountainroseherbs.com and take at least a tablespoon (3 tsp.) a day.
    – B vitamins like niacin and B6 let your body make serotonin and other brain compounds from amino acids. Eat whole grains, nuts and beans. Or nutritional yeast and bran if you want to take something. Probiotics and prebiotics also lead to B vitamin production in your intestine.
