  • Some of the other herbs like Bladderwrack, Moss, Oat Straw Calamus root, parsley root and watercress are those herbs that really support thyroid to produce enough thyroid hormones that is quality product. Fortunately, those herbs are now available in tablets or pills form and can be taken as daily health supplements or general health tonic. Essential fatty acids and flaxseed oils are also helpful treating hypothyroidism.

  • I also have hypothyroidism and have been looking for natural alternatives. Currently I am working with an acupuncturist and have found that many people are iodine deficient. I am currently taking iodine and other supplements. I continue to get my blood tested by my Dr. and each time I have been able to lower the amount of synthroid. As you know, treating hypothyroidism is a slow process. I hope to continue with adding more iodine and getting the snythroid lowered to a point where I won’t have to take the synthroid anymore. The Drs. are not that into balancing your hormones, just treating the problem. The iodine helps to balance the thyroid hormone. I can’t recomment a particular iodine product as I buy mine from my acupuncturist. You may want to research further on the iodine product. Good luck.
