Does anyone here believe in natural health cures/remedies? Why or why not?

I am very much a believer in natural health. I was just wondering if any of you feel the way I do.
It makes a lot of sense. God didn’t provide fast food or caffeine for Adam and Eve, it was the fruits and vegetables! I believe that too. Eat healthy, exercise, drink lots of water, and stay away from all that stuff that we know is bad for us. Look at Jack Lelane. He is I think over 90 years old. He juices all the time. We need to think more about what we put in our bodies.
My husbands doctor said to stay away from canned foods. He says it causes cancer. I think fresh is the way to go.
~JJ~ You know someone that cured cancer naturally? Could you share your story?

I took a medical anthropology class, and I also beleive in natural health and cures! Almost Everything you need is in veggies and fruits! For ex. radishes and honey to cure a cold! Cool, huh? 🙂

  • 100% ABSOLUTELY!!! What you said is exactly true. I have a Jack Lalane juicer. Especially as you age, you need to care for your body because it’ll keep illness at a minimum. The proper foods, vitamins, supplements and exercise can and will in most case cure illnesses like cancer…I’ve seen it happen and I know it’s true!

Natural remedies are usually free of side effects but often you need to take several as each one helps a bit.

Conventional remedies often give you side effects but they usually act a lot faster than natural remedies.

Probably the best approach is a combination of both. If you can’t overcome the problem with natural remedies you might have to resort to conventional prescription remedies which can sometimes give you absolutely dreadful side effects.

I believe our bodies can heal themselves, if we give it the nutrition it needs. Hippocrates said, "let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food". Problem is that our food supply is not that great (understatement). Even when we try to eat healthy the nutritional quality of our foods have been compromised. People rave about ‘organic’ foods but all that does is eliminate pesticides. The ‘organic’ label does nothing to ensure that the food we are eating has any nutritional value. We should always be aware of what we are putting in our bodies…whole foods, no pills, nothing that comes out of a box and makes health claims!!! Also, reduce stress and exercise!

What could be better for our bodies than to feed and heal them naturally!

Now, that covers what we put inside our bodies. But as part of the whole picture, what we do to ‘feed’ and ‘heal’ our mind and spirit is just as important.

Ayurveda is a hindu term meaning ‘the knowledge of long life.’ Our complete, total health encompasses the body, mind and spirit (soul) as one. Look into yoga/meditation, and into herbal remedies to help in achieving this total health.
