Anxiety, depression, worry or stress can cause over 100 symptoms or health problems as as in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0oGkmYCx0ZQ5CUA.T4L5gt.?p=%22over+100+anxiety+symptoms%22&fr2=sb-top&fr=ush-ans&type_param=&rd=r1

Prescription medication for anxiety, stress, depression and worry can give you bad side effects so natural remedies are often much better.

Natural remedies for anxiety, stress, worry and depression include exercise, Yoga, Melatonin, 5-HTP, Valerian Root, other herbs, vitamin B complex and other remedies as in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22natural+anxiety+remedies%22&fr=ush-ans

    Laughter is the best medicine.
    If this doesn’t amuse you,…
    then find something that does.

  • Exercise is by far the best for depression. It releases Endorphins into your system and gets you in shape.

  • Hi friend,

I have depression and it used to be really severe for years. I never wanted to be dependent on drugs and wanted alternative remedies. Here is what I suggest and they work from personal experience:

Exercise: I know this sounds cliche and everyone suggests it, but it really does work. Along with being explained by biology as increasing dopamin levels in the brain, it just makes you feel sooo good after working really hard. Doing some intense aerobics or cardio really gets the blood to the brain and makes you feel so much better, honestly! You get such euphoria after doing a hard workout. But even a 1/2 hour walk in the park, smelling fresh air works

Meditation: The problem I had with depression is that I always used to think, and the more I thought, the more unmotivated I became and I just became hopeless and felt worthless. A great way to distract your brain is to do meditation. It doesn’t have to be hard core meditation either. It could be a simple walk in the park, just admiring nature and quieting the brain. Distracting yourself by looking at the beauty of flowers and the breeze through your hair just feels so good. If she can try meditation too that would be great. Just even 10 minutes before falling asleep helps.

People: Whenever I feel depressed, I don’t want to see anyone or talk to anyone. But I’ve found, by being forced to always be with people as my father suggested, it really does help when you are around people. Even if you are not participating in a conversation, just seeing people and hearing them talk to each other and interacting with each other makes you feel happy, safe and like you belong. Just spend as little time alone as possible. It’s not good for you.

Supplements: Have her take a blood test to see if she is deficient in any vitamins. I took my blood test and found that I am deficient in iron and vitamin D, both that could potentially be sources of depression when they are deficient. She can take OTC Vitamin D, but if she is really low, a prescription vD is the best option.

Omega 3 Fatty Acids: Found in Fish and can be found as a supplement and in some eggs. It is a brain booster.

Herbal remedies: there are a whole bunch out there. I haven’t tried any but I’ve read that calcium/magnesium supplements, Passion flower and St. John’s Warts are all really good. In fact I am thinking of trying St. John’s Warts.

Speak to a Psychiatrist: If she has severe or chronic depression, natural remedies may not be the answer. Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain; it is not something wrong with HER, and she didn’t get depression because she did something wrong or because it was her fault. Have her speak to her psychiatrist about options for medications for people without health insurance. Sometimes when it is really severe, you can’t avoid medication and may need a "boost" before getting better and seeking alternative remedies.
